Why First Aid Is Important

With the knowledge of first aid, you can make a difference between life and death. First aid is important, as timely help from the nearest person saves life, prevents further deterioration, and promotes the recovery during any medical or accidental emergency. Knowledge of first aid helps you recognize the signs that someone truly needs help. It also prepares an individual to act appropriately and immediately in an emergency situation. First aid can be something as simple as tending to a cut, or it can be as elaborate as saving a life. There is no telling when an emergency will occur. First aid training will provide you the skills to ensure that you are properly prepared for any situation that may occur.

Types of Classes Offered

We offer different types of classes to meet your scheduling needs and/or your learning style. We currently offer three types of classes: •In Person: If you prefer a traditional classroom setting, this is the option for you. This class combines in-person and hands-on instruction. The in-person instruction includes the learning assessment, which allows you to receive a two-year certification. After hands-on skills are taught and assessed, you will take a learning assessment to show your skill proficiency. This learning assessment may be taken up to two times. Once you pass the learning assessment (80% or better), you will receive an email with a Digital Certificate (good for 2 years), that you can access anytime. You can also print, share, and download your certificate whenever and wherever you would like, through the American Red Cross website: https://www.redcross.org/take-a-class/digital-certificate •Online: The online course provides virtual first aid training . These courses are self-paced. The online courses DO NOT allow you test, thus skill proficiency can NOT be tested. The online course may NOT meet the requirements for workplace safety. Please consult your workplace and inquire if the online course will meet the requirements for workplace safety, as every establishment has different requirements. •Blended Learning: Blended learning combines self-paced, interactive instruction and in-person skills sessions. While enrolling in the blended learning course, you will choose a course that contains a suitable date to attend an in-person class (no longer than 2.5 hours, dependent on number of participants). You will then complete the online module prior to appearing in person. Once you arrive to the in person class, completion of the online module will be verified, and in-person skills will be taught, and assessed through hands-on instruction. You will then take a learning assessment to show your skill proficiency. This learning assessment may be taken up to three times. Once you pass the learning assessment (80% or better), you will receive an email with a Digital Certificate (good for 2 years), that you can access anytime. You also have the ability to print, share, and download your certificate whenever and wherever you would like, through the American Red Cross website: https://www.redcross.org/take-a-class/digital-certificate In Person: Delivered in a traditional classroom setting, our in-person first aid courses combine lecture with hands-on skills sessions. The course culminates with testing, which allows participants to receive a two-year certification. Online With instruction provided virtually, these self-paced courses can help you understand first aid best practices. However, online safety training courses do not allow you to demonstrate your skill proficiency to a certified instructor, and therefore your certification may not meet the requirements for workplace safety. Blended Learning Learning: Featuring award-winning simulation learning, our blended learning programs combine self-paced, interactive instruction and in-person skills sessions. Blended Learning courses allow you to learn on your schedule, then demonstrate your skills to a certified instructor.
