Is this class for beginners?
Yes! No prior CPR or first aid experience is required. The class is designed for individuals with little or no previous training as well as those needing certification renewal.

What will I learn in this class?
Participants will learn essential CPR, AED, and first aid skills, including how to respond to cardiac emergencies, choking, bleeding, injuries, and other common emergencies.

Will I receive a CPR/First Aid certification?
Yes, participants who successfully complete the required course components will receive a same day certification card that is good for 2 years. 

​

How long is the class?
The online portion of the class takes 1-2 hours, and the in person skills class will be about 2 hours, including instruction and hands-on skills practice.

What should I bring?
Please bring a valid photo ID and proof of completion of the online portion of the class (Screenshot is sufficient). Comfortable clothing is recommended because participants will practice CPR on the floor.

Do I need to be certified already?
No. This course is open to both first-time students and individuals renewing an existing certification.

​

Is there a hands-on portion?
Yes. Participants will have an opportunity to practice CPR, AED use, and other skills during the class.

​

What happens if I am late?
Because this is a skills-based certification course, arriving on time is important. Late arrivals may not be able to complete all required portions of the course.

Can I cancel or get a refund?Yes. Refund requests must be submitted at least 7 days before the scheduled class date. Refunds will not be available for cancellations made less than 7 days before the class.

Can I transfer my registration to someone else?No. Tickets are non-transferable and may only be used by the person who originally registered.

Is there an age requirement?
Participants must be 12 years of age or older. 

​

Where is the class located?
The class will be held at Delaine Eastin Elementary School located at 34901 Eastin Drive, Union City, CA 94587. Please park in the parking lot and enter through the front double doors.  Once you enter the double doors, please turn left and go into the library.
